VISION

The ultimate goal of the Adonijah Group of School is to provide the kind of dynamic leadership, example, advocacy and influence that will facilitate the full integrated and inclusion of person affected by disabilties in society.

MISSION STATEMENT

Adonijah Group of Schools is dedicated to providing educational and therapeutic services to students with Special Needs. At Adonijah Group of Schools we believe that through educational care and behavioural support students are able to maximize their cognitive, social, emotional, as well as their physical abilities. Our community based philosophy means that we believe that the participation of parents, family, and community are essential to enhancing the quality of life for all students so that they may be a productive member of the community.

 

Adonijah Group of Schools offer services  in a nurturing environment. Adonijah’s programs offer special education and related services to students on a daily 8 am to 2:30 pm school schedule with aftercare & extra lesson programme. We also cater for special needs adults who are allotted specific timetabled programmes throughout the week.

In addition, a full range of related services are also provided in order to implement Individual Education Plans (IEP) in the least restrictive environment. Special education services focus on the development of academic, social, emotional and behavioural skills through disciplinary comprehensive instruction in an environment that recognizes and capitalizes on the strengths of each child.

 

BACKGROUND

Adonijah Group of Schools offers a variety of programs that serve a community of persons with disability ages 2- 18.  We educate, stimulate and rehabilitate persons with disabilities.

 

Adonijah Group of Schools (AGS) located at 20 Elspeth Ave Kgn 10 is a private non- profit institution that started in the home of Ruthlyn James. Mrs James is a registered teacher trained and Certified at Florida International University (1999- 2002) to meet the community need for Elementary aged Special Needs Students.  She also has continued professional development through local based universities such as MICO, also in-house training from international professionals in therapy interventions and special education training.
